The shower project. After a leak from the original installation which was a basic bath / shower mixer and curtain affair lasting ten years, I encountered a problem, water, water everywhere but also in my neighbours flat below. Not good for either of us. Resolve?
I changed the bath shower mixer to quarter turn, makes control much easier due to medical condition, had to increase tile height, install BSM with a diverter so we have 2 options. Direct fed the main rainfall 8" head as opposed to shower hose. There is a hand held shower which is controlled by a quarter turn diverter. The temperature is controlled from the Bosch condensing boiler so I did not have to install a thermostatic shower mixer.
Finalised with a quad fold glass shower door and LED lighting around bathroom.

After missing the Spain holiday in April because I was incarcerated in hospital after a lung collapse 2 days before flying out, Stella and I were in need of a quick short break. Berlin was the preference because I had to go there anyway for business and I love a city that never shuts down 24/7. My first visit was 1986 when Berlin was a split city, West and Ost. I was working in Frankfurt then working on the Dresdner Bank installing air conditioning and my German boss took me away for a Berlin 2 day break. We stayed with his brother and hit the place! WOW. It was my intetion to return again.
I did in 1999, 2000 and 2007/8/9 after reunification and followed the reunification rebuild of the City that has now become the new capital of the federal republic of Germany.
When I did my degree in Humanities, Germany was the history subject I studied after English language.
Below are some pics and comments.

Arrival: Wittenburg U-bahn on Kurfurstendamm now restored to former glory, KaDeWe, it was packed to the doors! (Kaufhaus des Westens, the largest store in Germany (similar to Harrods) and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche. We stayed at the Scandic Hotel on Augsberger nearby.
In my 12 visits to Berlin I Never got to Sans souci in Potsdam. We went. Fantastic day out.
Alexanderplatz, iconic East Berlin square and of course the Fernseturm, TV tower. It was so busy on the 2 occasions we tried to get in it was a wait of 1 to 4 hours so never got our coffee 685mtrs up, in the rotating restaurant.
You can't visit Berlin without seeing the Tor, Pariserplatz and Albert Speers street lighting which expands down Unter Den Linden
Unter Den Linden, a travesty!!
The once beautiful avenue of lime trees from the Brandengurg Tor to the Homboldt Uni and the Berliner Dom is now Unter der Builders Rubble, Spende! Budget overspend and now stagnant, the new sewerage system is on hold. Now just builders rubble, site huts, and safety grills.
Walking around Berlin you may come across these.
Stolperstein (literally 'stumbling stones') created by Berlin artst Gunter Demnig.
Gunter Demnig cites the Talmud saying that "a person is only forgotten when his or her name is forgotten". The Stolperstein in front of the buildings bring back to memory the people who once lived here. Each “stone” begins with HERE LIVED… One “stone”. One name. One person. There are at least 615 around Germany. They put a lump in your throat for sure.
